Jack And The Beans Talk ... Jack On The Box ... The Docherty Will See You Now
The best programme on Channel 5 at the moment, apart from Knight Rider, is that strange cookery programme with that weird Nancy Lam woman. But Jack Docherty is on as well. His show is on every weeknight at 11pm (just after the nine o'clock film - click below-left to hear an advert for said film) and features sort of comedy and chat and music and that. He has his own on-screen band, The Peteles with Pete Baikie, and some other people, and he invites minor celebrity guests on so he can talk to them about things they have done and say that he's not bald. Guests so far have included Alan Shearer, Eric "Monster Monster" Hall, the Cornish Bloke Who Was Darth Vader And Was In The Green Cross Code Adverts, Pauline McLynn out of Father Ted, Mark Williams off of the Fast Show and Peter Stringfellow. Although he's only been on for about a week, his jokes are already being stolen by celebs like David Baddiel who copied one on last Sunday's Clive James Show. The show also features a daily soap, the Retuners, an everyday tale of love, deceit, romance, and, of course, a lot of retuning. In fact, mainly retuning.
